Role Overview

We are looking for a high-ownership Material Handler to support physical order flow across Isembard’s factory operations. This is not a generic warehouse role. You will be responsible for making sure materials, parts, shipments, documentation, and system updates move cleanly through the factory. That means tracking orders and material in MasonOS, receiving shipments, packaging finished parts, coordinating outbound shipping, supporting traceability, and helping with the operational work required to keep a fast-moving factory running.

The right person is organized, reliable, hard-working, and clear in communication. You should care about details, move with urgency, and take ownership of the physical flow of work through the factory. In a precision manufacturing environment, shipping and receiving are not “just boxes.” Materials, labels, certs, packaging, traceability, and timing all matter.
This role is a strong fit for someone with warehouse, logistics, shipping, receiving, military supply, FedEx, UPS, Amazon, or manufacturing material handling experience who wants to work in a startup factory environment where no job is too small.

Key Responsibilities

Own MasonOS shipment and order visibility

• Track orders, materials, and shipment status in MasonOS
• Maintain accurate, real-time visibility on inbound and outbound material flow
• Update shipment status, receiving status, documentation, tracking numbers, and order movement
• Ensure the physical location of parts and materials matches system status
• Flag missing information, blockers, or handoff issues quickly
• Help operations, QC, machining, and leadership understand where things stand
• Keep MasonOS clean, current, and useful for day-to-day factory execution

Receive inbound shipments

• Receive inbound raw material, tooling, consumables, machine parts, spares, customer-supplied material, outside processing returns, and general factory deliveries
• Match shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, travelers, labels, and internal requirements
• Confirm quantities, condition, labeling, and documentation
• Route material to the correct location or next step in the factory
• Support clean handoffs to QC, machining, operations, or inventory areas
• Identify damaged, incomplete, mislabeled, or questionable shipments
• Escalate receiving issues with urgency and clear communication

Package and ship finished parts

• Package high-value precision components for safe shipment
• Prepare outbound shipments through UPS, FedEx, standard parcel, and freight carriers
• Create and manage packing slips, shipping labels, documentation, tracking numbers, and shipment records
• Follow customer-specific packaging and shipping requirements
• Support aerospace, defence, and other critical customer shipments with discipline and attention to detail
• Help prevent part damage during handling, packaging, and transit
• Keep packaging areas clean, stocked, organized, and ready for use

Support traceability and compliance

• Maintain strong control over material certs, lot numbers, customer part numbers, purchase orders, travelers, labels, and shipment documentation
• Support ITAR, AS9100, export-controlled, and customer-specific requirements as trained
• Ensure parts and materials are clearly identified and traceable through the factory
• Follow quarantine and non-conforming material processes when needed
• Help ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and easy to find
• Reinforce disciplined handling of customer material and finished parts
• Treat traceability as a core part of the job, not an administrative afterthought

Coordinate outside processing and vendor handoffs

• Support shipments to and from finishing vendors and outside processors
• Coordinate parts moving through processes such as anodizing, Cerakote, black nitride, and other finishing steps
• Track vendor handoffs, delivery timing, documentation, and return status
• Communicate clearly with internal teams about where parts are and what is pending
• Help ensure outside processing does not become a black hole in the order flow
• Escalate delays, missing information, or quality concerns quickly

Support general factory operations

• Help keep the factory organized, clean, and operationally ready
• Support material movement, factory supplies, packaging inventory, and shop-floor organization
• Assist with building maintenance, operational errands, and general factory needs
• Support QC, machining, engineering, and operations teams as needed
• Help maintain clear physical flow through receiving, production, QC, packaging, and shipping
• Jump in where needed to keep the factory moving
• Bring a no-job-too-small mindset to daily factory operations

Required Experience

• 3+ years of warehouse, shipping, logistics, material handling, or manufacturing experience
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• Ability to take ownership of physical material flow and system accuracy
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Comfort working in a fast-moving factory or operations environment
• Ability to manage multiple moving parts without letting details slip
• Strong follow-through and reliability
• Willingness to do physical, hands-on work every day
• Ability to work flexibly around shipping deadlines
• Comfort learning and using operating systems such as MasonOS
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, move material, and work around active factory operations

Preferred Experience

• Warehouse, shipping, receiving, or logistics experience
• Manufacturing material handling experience
• Experience in precision manufacturing, CNC, aerospace, defence, or industrial environments
• UPS, FedEx, freight, or parcel shipping experience
• Military logistics, supply, warehouse, or operations experience
• Amazon, FedEx, UPS, or high-volume distribution experience
• ERP, MRP, inventory system, barcode, or scanner experience
• Forklift or pallet jack experience
• Forklift certification
• Experience handling customer-supplied material, certs, travelers, labels, or traceability documentation
• Experience supporting outside processing vendors or finishing vendors

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand and walk for much of the day
• Comfortable moving material through a factory environment
• Comfortable using pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment
• Comfortable working around machinery, tools, packaging areas, shipping areas, and production teams
• Willingness to perform repetitive physical tasks with consistency and care
